When you know why you are doing a thing, you will do it well. When we understand why we should praise God, it won’t be an issue to praise God. Many complain because they do not understand what God has done for them
WHY SHOULD YOU THANK GOD?
- God commanded it: Blessings can be curses if we are not thankful. God is commanding you and me to give him thanks. Malachi 2:1-2, 1Peter 2:9. When God blesses you, give him thanks for it. Many times, we think what we have is by our strength. No! For by strength shall no man prevail. Every man that is alive is a function of the grace of God. 1Corth 15:10, Zech 4:6. No wonder Paul said I am what I am by the grace of God. Many are alive today that you are better than.
- For multiplication and Increase
- For Divine Promotions: Ps 75:6 says promotion comes from the Lord, 1 Sam 2:8 says God raises the poor from the dunghill.
- For Divine Healing: If you want to know the value of healing, visit the sick in the hospital. If you take health away from a man, you have taken away everything from him.
- For Deliverance from Death: The Lord has delivered from death according to Psalm 124
- For Family Sustainability: The Lord has preserves lives in our homes and children. That is why we are thanking God. Out there, there are tensions in many homes but not in yours according to Ps 68:6.
- For the Salvation of our Soul: No matter how much wealth you accumulate, it all becomes of no value when a man dies. No amount of wealth or property influences your eternity. Your eternity is more valuable than anything else. Heb 12:1, Rm 5:8. The salvation of our souls was the doing of the Lord
THE VALUES OF THANKSGIVING
- When we pray, we war, when we praise, we watch, and God takes over the battle. Eph 6:12, 2 Chron. 20:20-22
- When we pray, we present our desires to God but when we thank God, we are receiving delivery of our desires.
Why not take some time to praise God and give thanks to Him from the bottom of your heart today.
