Text: 1 Sam 2:9, Zech 4:6
We cannot meet expectations with our natural strength let alone exceed expectations. By strength shall no man prevail – 1 Sam 2:9, Zech 4:6, Ps 146:3. We can never use the arm of the flesh to exceed expectations. When you put your trust in the Lord and call upon him for assistance to exceed expectations, I can assure you that you will exceed expectations.
Jesus asked the disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high. That is anointing and what is anointing? It means the help of God. Lk 24:29, Rom 8:11. Everything is a function of the anointing. When we are full of the Holy Spirit, then we can say no to sin. Uzziah became famous because God helped him. We cannot go far in life without the anointing. The anointing brings favour and favour is what adds colour to life. When we are favoured, life is sweet. Isa 34:16 – no one of these shall fail…
The anointing is the Spirit and it is the anointing that does the work. God said let there be light and the anointing went forth into action.
For us to succeed in life and exceed expectations, we must have the anointing. The anointing cannot be sold out for another thing. It is too important. We must covet the anointing this year- Isa 61:1.
Anointing comes out of desperate search and hunger for God – Ps 63:1-2. Anointing answers to a desperate approach and not a casual approach. The anointing answers everywhere and not just in the church. In Ex 31: 2-3, God released the Spirit upon a Bezaleel to be able to do the specified work for the house of God. The anointing will make a man to outshine his peers. In 1 Sam 10:4, Prophet Samuel told Saul that the anointing will speak for him and he will know this by the gifts he will receive on the way and so it was.
Anointing is in different dimensions and to get this anointing requires desperate call – Eze 47:1-5 Be business minded and don’t be casual. A man that is casual in the things of the Spirit will not go far. You can make a difference in whatever area you are. If you have been anointed, you can receive a second dose. To exceed expectations, we need the hand of God upon our lives.
