There is a level of power in every human being. According to Eph 3:20, your ability to exceed expectation is dependent upon the power that works in you. The question is how much power is at work in you – Eze 47:1-5. The disciples after being threatened went in to pray and the Holy Spirit filled them afresh again the second time. There are levels of power. Power comes from God – Psalm 62: 11-12. The more time we spend with God, the more power we get. John 9:4 – Jesus took the work of God seriously and expects us to do the same. You may wonder how a man is so powerful spiritually? Go and find out about such a man and you will discover that he is a great worker in the kingdom of God.
What must we do to receive power?
1. We must be passionate for God 1 Kgs 19:10 – Elijah was passionate and jealous for God. no wonder he was very powerful. Anyone that is passionate for God will receive power from God for exploitation. Rom 8:35 – Paul was a lover of God, no wonder he was mightily used by God. A man that is passionate for God will demonstrate power. How far can you go for God. Paul was not just ready to serve, he was ready to die for the gospel. He was not only ready to spend but also to be spent.
2. We must be passionate for Soul – The primary objective of the church is to preach the gospel because that was the reason Christ came. 1 Corth 9:16-17. Paul said woe is me if I preach not the gospel. How will he not have power? A man void of passion for God will be void of power and a man void of power can not exceed expectations.
3. You must be passionate for prayers – Ps 55:17. David was a man that was passionate for prayers. David was a King and despite that was able to pray to God evening, morning and at noon. Daniel was another man that had great passion for prayers – Dan 6:10. Jesus taught us to pray and he was full with passion for prayers. You need passion for prayers for you to be empowered.
4. We must be passionate for the word of God – Ps 119: 970-100, 162. When you love something or a person, you will create time for it. David loved the Lord and meditated on the word of God. David said he rejoiced in the word like someone that has found a great spoil.
5. Be passionate for the Kingdom of God– The priority of God is that His kingdom be established on earth. Judg 6: 9-10, Matt 6:33. We are to seek first the kingdom of God. if you obey His instruction and you obey Him, God will pay you big time.
God Bless You!
