What Are Goals?

Goals are an integral part of a plan that promotes the fulfilment of a purpose.

Goals are the incremental measure of ultimate success.

Goals are the objectives one seeks in order to enable one to achieve the plans one has.

Goals are the establishment points for achievements that lead to accomplishing a goal.

Without a plan in our lives, we can not achieve anything. Life without purpose is equal to pressure without risk. The fundamental principle of achievement in life is committing everything we want to embark upon into the hands of God. When we commit ourselves, our plans and our pursuit to God, at that point, we are simply telling God that you are the Boss and that you should lead the way for us. When we do that, God will actually step in and direct us. When we commit our works to the hands of God, He will begin to lead us and minister to us what we need to do – Pro 16:3

To achieve our goals, we must maintain focus. Our God is a goal-setter. He has a plan for the church and for us. He has a plan for you in particular.  Col 2:5, Isa 30:21, Pro 3:6.

If we want a life that is pleasing to God, we must be ready to align our lives with that of God. Ps 143:8. Why are we confused and in disarray? It is because we do things on our own without asking God for direction. Before you take on any project, seek the face of God. As long as God is giving you a direction, do not worry even if it takes a long time, it will lead to fulfilment at the end – Hab 2:3. If you want your life pleasing to God, you must align your goals and have a relationship with the Holy Spirit of the living God.

How Can We Achieve Our Goals?

  1. The Word of God – Josh 1:8. The Word of God is a road map that God has given to every believer to succeed in life. It is our birthright as the children of God. God has promised that we will succeed if we study and meditate on the Word. Study the Word of God and ask for understanding and insight each day as you study. Ask the Holy Spirit for enlightenment on what you should do. To be outstanding, we must positively apply ourselves to certain demands of life.
  1. Make God’s Kingdom Your Priority – Matt 6:33. Seek first the kingdom of God first. If you so do, he will provide every other thing for you that is necessary for life. What are you doing to promote the kingdom of God? What men are struggling for will be provided to us if only you make His kingdom the number one on your list of priorities.

  2. Self Control. We can never be in charge in life if we do not have self-control. Be responsible for there cannot be greatness without responsibility. Be responsible for the things of God. As you take God seriously, God will take you seriously. Put more gas! Increase the acceleration, and work hard.
  1. Have Faith in God – Heb 11:6, We need to have faith in God as we embark on our projects. Some of those projects may overwhelm us but if God is in charge, He will give you the strength to accomplish them because He is the one leading. Only Trust and Obey.
  1. Obey the Holy Spirit – John 16:13. Jesus promised to send us the helper who will teach us all things. That is the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit gives you a guide, try to obey Him. The ways of God may be more logical than we think. Be willing to take action. Pursue to possess. True success requires dependence on God Almighty.

You must sow good seeds to reap good fruits. Men may try to stop you temporarily but you are the only one who can stop yourself permanently. Only goal-setters will be goal-getters. As you determine, you will definitely reach your goal. Stand up and pray. You shall succeed in Jesus’ Name. Do not give up this year. Your determination will birth the ability which will propel you to action and your action will generate the energy for you to achieve your goals. Do not let disappointments and mischief keep you out.Refuse to quit for quitters never win and winners never quit. You are a winner! Prepare yourself from home before you come to the house of God. When you get to the house of God, you would have been fired up already and it will be like a magnet.

See your future today greater than yesterday. Be specific about what you want to achieve and be persistent. Pro 14:12.
