Text: Hebrews 11: 7- 40

Exploits of faith is a word practice. It involves, hearing, believing and acting on the word of God. In Gen 12, Abraham was still in his father’s house at age 75. God asked him to move to a place that he would show him and promised to bless those that bless him and curse those that curse him. Abraham moved in Gen 12:4 to actualise what God told him. He took a step of faith. All the exploits we see in the life of Abraham are a result of the demonstration of faith in the word of God.

From time to time, the Lord speaks to us through His word. When we receive a word, we are to run with it. Running with it does not mean that the result will happen tomorrow. It could take some time. The promise of God to Abraham did not manifest until after 25yrs later.

Hebrews 11:7-40  is a catalogue of the exploits of faith from men and women. It does not mean they never faced challenges.  They had several challenges but they were consistent in their walk with God and held unto what the Lord had told them.

Today, we read about them as men of reference who overcame in their lifetime. One of the principles of the exploits of faith is to learn the place of the word of God in your life. If you do not have the word of God in your life, you can not have faith. Every word of God has a purpose and it is very crucial in our journey in life. The principles of faith are the guiding steps that help us to be productive in life. Gen 1:1-3.

Before God created light, there was no light anywhere. The light was a creation of God. He spoke light into existence and light emerged. Man has the power to create whatever he wants in life. This is achieved by what we speak. Learn to speak the future you want to see based on the word. God’s word is His will. If you lend your voice to the word of God you have read and seen, in no distant future, you will begin to see the fruits of your confessions. If what you say is not what you intend to see, then do not say it because what you sow, you shall reap.

Speak deliberately, about what you desire to see in your life. Say repeatedly what you want to see in your future. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. What you say is either life or death that is why we must be careful of our words. There may indeed be challenges in your life today but speak what you want to see. You can recreate everything. Do not speak negatively and say you are being realistic. There is no reality in it. Speak the word of God because the reality is in the word of God. Deliberately construct your statements. Do not speak anyhow. You cannot tell the angel that “I am sorry” once you have spoken – Eccl 5:6

Calling things that be not as though they were – Rom 4:17. This principle was employed by God in Gen 1:1-3 and Jesus used it in John 2 when he turned water into wine. As man is the only one that has the attributes of God, he also has the power to create whatever he wants in life. This is a divine principle that is in practice every day – Mark 11:23. Hence you and I must speak into existence what we want to see in our lives. The word of God is a manual to our living.

As parents, we must speak good into our children’s life.  Those who understand these principles use them to their advantage and their children make progress in life. Even when you see negative things in the life of your children, say good things about them that they are intelligent, excellent and great!

When you hear of any evil report, say I take cover under the blood of Jesus Christ. By doing so, you are creating the future you want to see. You must speak in line with the word of God. Use your tongue to your advantage. In Hosea 8: 10-14 God said open your mouth wide and I will fill it. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. There is an order and some requirements we must meet to achieve our desires in the kingdom of God. Do not stampede God over your situation. Rather than panic, be praising God for what you have asked for.

Rahab’s life and family were spared by her mouth. She told the spies that when they eventually came to overtake the city of Jericho, they should remember her and preserve her and her household. That was exactly how it was Josh 6: 25. What we say is powerful hence we should constantly use the word power. Don’t commonize prophetic instructions from God’s prophets over your life.

If you ignore the fundamental principles of faith, you will experience a hard time but if you imbibe them, you will find a smooth and easy ride.

God bless you!
