Understanding makes you outstanding in any aspect of life, including spirituality and your walk with Christ.
Thanksgiving will not be complete or effective if it is not done thoughtfully. Thanksgiving will not be fulfilled if it is not done thoughtfully. What births genuine thanksgiving in being thoughtful? If you can think well, you can thank well. God expects thoughtful Thanksgiving from us – Mal 2:1.
Blessings can become curses. If you do not lay it to heart to give me thanks, I will curse your blessings. That is the word of God in Mal 2. 1Thess 5:18 admonish us to give thanks to God in all circumstances. In every situation give God thanks; No matter what the circumstance is.
Is your account negative, give God thanks? Are you below the surface, give God thanks for a living dog is better than a dead lion – Eccl 9:4.
We need to be sincere to ourselves that without God on our side, we are nothing. Nothing that we have we can receive except for the mercy of God. That is what will breed thoughtful thanksgiving. It is not about skills but the mercy of God – Eccl 9:11
- It’s not about what we have but about the mercy of God.
- Always remember that your thanksgiving will not be accepted until it is thoughtful.
- Our hearts must give God thanks before our mouths. Heb13:15
Always remember it will not be accepted if it is not thoughtful. Even when we are praising God collectively, God accesses our praises individually and on that bases, he receives our thanksgiving and blesses us. Herb 11:13
Thoughtful thanksgiving proceeds out of the heart first, then our mouth. Luke 17:1-9.
Why did the other nine lepers not return to thank God after their healing?
1) One waited to see if the cure was real.
2) One waited to see if it would last
3) One said he would see Jesus later
4) Another said I have never had leprosy before. It was a small leprosy
5) One said Jesus would have forgotten
6) One gave the glory to the priest
7) The seventh man said any rabbi could have done it
8) I was already improving before meeting Jesus
9) Another said it might just be the right time though, so Jesus didn’t do much
I pray you will not be among the nine that never returned to give thanks in Jesus’ name. Whatever you thank God for is made whole. Be in a situation where you thank God more for what you receive from him than what you expect from him.
