Text: 1Thess. 5:18
When thanksgiving becomes your lifestyle, signs and wonders become your natural experience. 1 Thess. 5:18 – that passage means in everything and under all situations, give thanks. Maybe you are waiting for an open door and it seems to be delayed, God is saying give thanks in that situation. Constantly locate a reason to give God thanks because if you do not make that conscious decision, the devil will give you a reason to grumble. The devil will show you that person that you came to Germany before him and look at what he has now but look at you. Remind the devil that the others died yesterday but you are still alive!
The goal of the devil is to make you remember the things you don’t have and thereby make you ungrateful. That is why you have to always locate a reason to give God thanks. Heb. 10:36-37. Are you in school and you cannot pay your fees? Give thanks! The will of God is; in all things, give thanks though palatable or not. Thanksgiving is the will of God concerning all things. When thanksgiving becomes our way of life, we naturally obtain the will of God. God is committed to fulfilling his purpose for our lives after we have done His will. When we do His will, he works with us and confirms his word with signs and wonders following.
When you thank God do so from your heart and not your mouth. Thank him even though you have lost something, it is because of God that you have not lost all. James 1:12. We must make up our minds to be doers of His word. Be comfortable with God to the extent that wherever God cannot take you to, you thank him for not taking you there. Tell God that whatever He cannot give you, may you never get it. The truth is that heaven and earth belong to him and it takes God nothing to bless you. He is the greatest connector that can use anyone or anything to fulfil his cancel. So, do not chase man, chase God!Always have a reason to give God thanks Ps 3:5 says “I slept and I awoke for the Lord kept me”. Whenever you wake up in the morning, give God thanks. You cannot operate in the realm of signs and wonders if you do not understand the mystery of thanksgiving.
When you are thoughtful, you will be thankful and when you are thankful, you will be praiseful and when you are praiseful, you will be God-ful, and when you are God-ful, you become wonderful. Ps 22:3. When you carry God, you carry wonder! Ex 15:11 – when there is a genuine act of praise, the acts of God are wonderful and fearful. Genuinely give thanks to God for who He is in your life.
Thanksgiving qualifies you to carry his presence that confirms signs and wonders Acts 10:38, Mark 16:20, Ps 92:1 you will not lack fresh oil when you are thankful. Cultivate the habit of thanksgiving over every situation. Make up your mind to be thankful no matter what happens Habbakuk 3:17-19, Isa 38:19, 1 John 5:12.
