Sub-topic: The Source of Faith

Text: Romans 10:17

The source of faith is the word of God and faith comes by hearing. The source of your faith will depend on who you hear from. If you hear from impossibility, you will believe impossibilities.

Faith is an action steering from what you believe. Faith proceeds the action. The confession of the centurion was another display of faith. Faith rests completely on what the word of God says – disregarding all else. Faith puts the believer at rest. When you find the word of God and you key into it then you are at rest.

There is a difference between fact and truth.

Fact is a true life situation that is based on the actual situation of things.

Truth is God’s perspective on any situation. Sense faith is based on fact but revelational faith is based on truth. What rules your life? Fact or truth?

Until we are soaked with the truth, the fact will rule us. We can never live in the realms of the supernatural if we are living by the fact. Smart people live by the fact and scrutinize things based on the facts. But what does the word of God says in Matt 19:26, Lk1:37, Mark 9:23?

Faith brings us to the capacity of God where we begin to turn situations around very cheaply. Faith convert you to clearing all obstructions on your way. Faith is the access to the power of God not your tears. God does not respond to tears, He responds to faith. Outside faith, nothing else is done. Faith is now! It is operational in the now. – Heb 11:1. If God saved us on the spot, He can give us anything we request on the spot on the platform of faith. Every response from Jesus was always on the spot. For example,

Mark 10:52 the response to blind Bartimaeus was on the spot, Mark 5:34 the woman with the issue of God received a spontaneous response. Faith is a definite act not waiting to act. Stop waiting for God to act, God is waiting for you to act. The woman with the issue of blood acted in her situation. Jesus remains unchanged and is capable of doing today what He has done in the past – Herb 13:8.

The Process of Faith Application

Faith is a shield as well as a weapon. The more skillful we use it, the better the result we get.

  1. Conception: The place where you are inspired or receive the revelation. Faith is the platform of exercising what God has said concerning an issue. We can receive this revelation or illumination when we pray or study the Word of God. God can open our eyes to receive revelation you can work with or while studying the word of God – James 5:17-18, Joshua1:8, 2 Tim 2:15, Isaiah 30:31, Rom 10:17
  2. Incubation: This is the process of creating over the word of God received that makes it live. Many do not medidate on the word of God. We have to chew, meditate on it until the Word begins to drive us and make us feel intoxicated. Take time to meditate on the Word!
  3. Delivery: Your faith is delivered through your confessional statement and action – Jn 17:13-18. You say what you believe. Confess and act! Keep confessing what you believe until you see it. Your faith will not fail in Jesus name.

God bless you!
