Text: Rev 5:1, 2 Corth 5:21
It is understanding that makes the difference in life. Your level of understanding will determine your outstanding in life, not just spiritually but in every area of endeavour. Understanding comes from the platform of knowledge. The application of knowledge birth understanding, and knowledge comes from the acquisition of information. Understanding is the right application of knowledge. The fruit of Christianity is measured by the delivery or outcomes of our lives. When you see a fruit-bearing Christian, we say this Christian is blossoming. So long as you are grafted to the root, you will bear fruits. The question is are we truly grafted to the vine? A root cannot be fruitful and the branch fruitless. It is the revelation you receive from the word of God that changes your situation. Jacob received a word from the Lord that gave birth to Israel. It is the revelation we receive from the word of God that determines how fruitful your life and my life will be.
David said open thou my eyes that I might behold the wondrous things out of your law. Do you know your rights as a child of God? You need to know your rights before you can exercise them. When you know your rights, then you can exercise your right.
Jesus purchased our redemption by his blood and hence we have the redemption right Rev 5:1. Grace is available now, but a time will come when grace will not be available again. Let’s make hay while the sun shines. As believers, we have the right to the blessings of God through Christ. We have been redeemed and have become the righteousness of God in Christ -2 Corinth 5:21. You cannot fake being a child of God when you are not. You must be genuine! You cannot fake being a citizen of a country if you are not. That you are in church for so long does not automatically make you a citizen of heaven. If we are not washed by the blood of Jesus, we are not citizens of heaven.
In the circular world, we fight for our rights but how many of us fight for our rights spiritually? How many Christians can say I cannot be sick because I have the right to health in Christ Jesus? The reason why many do not fight is because we are not truly connected. The moment you become a child of God, you become a joint heir in Christ. May God open our eyes to see and understand our legal rights in Christ. Gal 4:1-7, Rm 8:17, Isa 1:18
Some of Our Rights in Christ
- Right to be free from any oppression – John 8:36.
- Right to be healed – Isa 53:5. You have the right to healing and you should stand by your right to healing and not let anybody take that right from you. Lk 13:26-30. Jesus said ought not this daughter of Abraham to be healed from this infirmity.
- The right to prosper – 2 Corinth 9:8. God is able to make all grace abound to me so that we have abundance and left over to share with others.
- Right never to fear again – Rm 8:15. Fear is subtle and malignant. Some are afraid for their children, afraid if they lose their job or a loved one. Don’t practice fear, don’t think fear, don’t talk fear. If you talk about fear, fear will come. Job said the thing which I greatly fear has come upon me – Job 3:25. If God is on your side, nothing will harm you. 1 John 4:8 says fear is a torment.
- Right to peace. Ps 29:11 says the Lord will bless his people with peace. True peace does not come from a sense of trouble but rather it comes from the presence of God. Shalom is the peace of God. Isa 26:3. Hence, peace comes from Shalom which means wholeness, wellness, tranquillity, prosperity, harmony, to be complete, perfect and full.
God bless you!
