BIBLE REFERENCES: ZECH 4:7, LK 1:33-37

SPEAKER:  PASTOR SAM OGAH

MESSAGE: Grace is the unmerited favour of God. It is given willingly by God even when we do not deserve it. We are alive by the grace of God. Grace is what makes great in life. It means the enabling power of God that strengthens us each day and helps us to stand against all odds. When God’s grace is upon a man, an effort is not necessary to accomplish the feat. A lot of people may be going through terrible things, but you will be exempted – that is grace. Grace located Mary even though there were many virgins in the land. Esther was preferred over the rest virgins because grace was at work in her life. In this life, there are a lot of competitions, grace is what will differentiate you.

WHAT GRACE CAN DO IN THE LIFE OF AN INDIVIDUAL.

  • Peter: In Matt 26:69-75 Peter denied Jesus but even though he denied Christ, Peter was restored. In Mk 16: 6-7, the angel told the ladies that came to the tomb of Jesus to go and tell the disciples and Peter. Why was Peter mentioned specifically? God wanted to tell us that Peter has been forgiven and restored. Whatever you have lost before now, may grace restore it to you today in Jesus’ name.
  • The Prodigal Son: In Luke 15:17-24 the prodigal son was another individual that grace was made manifest in his life. After all the riotous living, yet his Father embraced him on his return. Grace gives you what you do not deserve.
  • Zacchaeus: A small man who was a tax collector and wanted to see Jesus. But grace functioned on his behalf and Zacchaeus hosted Jesus at the end of the day. Jesus did not look at his history but decided to dine in his house…that is grace at work.
  • When you hear God talks about David, you will think David was a sinless man, but grace was working on his behalf. His errors were covered, and his little efforts were magnified. Grace covers errors colors our efforts.

Grace is not a license to sin, but a license to live holy. Apostle Paul said if I build again the things which I destroy, I make myself a transgressor. I do not frustrate the grace of God in me. When we consistently live in sin, we frustrate the grace of God.
